Blog tweaking

I know nothing of CSS and scripts and all the technical backroom stuff that makes my blog look and work like it does. But I can tinker with HTML colour codes, work out where to get a font from, and guess at where I need to replace the one that came with my chosen theme's CSS.

Back in the mists of time, when computers had just started being 'a thing', I actually studied how to write programs, and got an O level qualification for it – but that was in the late 1980's. Since that, nothing to do with it.

So there's a small gap in my knowledge of about 40 years.

I do of course also have the time-honoured and essential skills of Ctrl C, and Ctrl V, so I am thankful to people like Robert Birming , who have made it easier to do some tweaking with my blog – that I don't have any idea how to do myself – by publishing a handy repository of how it is done.

This of course makes me feel like I've achieved something. It's a bit like vibe-coding I suppose. I didn't really do anything, except ask the right question in a relevant place, and then tried out the result.

Actually, it's all worked fine first time so far.

So it's probably not like vibe-coding then.1

Anyway, you will now find the Previous and Next post navigation prompts at the bottom of my posts, allowing you to cycle through posts from the bottom of the current post, rather than having to return to the main Blog list to find another post.

If you ever wanted to read another post after just reading one of them that is.

If you got this far, you may as well click the star below on your way out.

  1. Look, I know nothing of coding, vibe or otherwise, or indeed doing whatever you do to connect to an AI service. Never done it. So this is called 'joking' and is drawing on nothing but ignorance.
