This a new thing. Stuff I write getting attention.
Two recent posts in the last few days made it to the Trending page of Bear Blog. From an average of 7-10 views for a post, one is now sitting in the middle hundreds. The stats page bar graph for this week looks like passing a couple of single story mall buildings before turning into the skyscraper area of the city.
Now, I thought I was just amusing myself, but it turns out a few people might have had a bit of a reaction to the literal words, instead of finding any amusement in the overall tone or by the suggested between-the-lines sarcasm.

Although to be fair, I may have missed a very similar sarcasm aspect of the monocyte one - their response (I'll put the capitals at the end of the sentence instead then) is bloody brilliant and funnY.
And balssh is more wondering about how serious I might or might not bE.
I agree, my gently sarcastic approach does err towards the subtle. I like playing in that sort of uncertain gap between humour and the literal, and perhaps I don't necessarily have the skills to make certain that the sardonic writing voice in my head is actually dancing on the right side of the line and hitting your reading voice every time.
Or, perhaps it's just not funny, which is another pretty good possibility.
Generally though, I'm just teasing you.

Also, I do have this small piece of text on my home page for this blog.
You may experience a nagging feeling that I might be ever so subtly taking the piss, but you'll never be completely certain.
Which I think sums it up, doesn't it?
NB: Update 07/02/26: It seems some of the US-based community may be unaware of the British use of 'taking the piss'. They may like to replace that phrase with 'bullshitting' instead.
